The subjects are about 3 inches tall.  Six to 12 macro images were taken of each object, using different focus points. The images were then processed to merge the sharpest elements together. Each can require three to eight hours to process, from initial set-up to print-ready.  The end result yields an extremely detailed image that can be greatly enlarged without losing clarity.
